Mississippi’s First Lady, Deborah Bryant, will make a stop in the Lake City to read to some lucky youngsters.
Bryant will visit the Elizabeth Jones Library on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. as part of her “Read Across Mississippi” tour.
The event is free and open to the public.
The first lady has been visiting schools and libraries throughout the state since January as part of her efforts to promote literacy among young children.
“We’re very excited to have the First Lady here and we certainly support and encourage her efforts to promote reading among children,” said library director Crystal Osborne. “We want to encourage everybody to come out. We’d love to fill up the library to show that we’re excited about reading and about having Mrs. Bryant in our town.”
