Engineers and sub-contractors with MDOT are installing new drainage infrastructure underneath a road that provides access to hotels and shopping in west Grenada.
Crews are working on Jamison Drive, which has been closed since last year due to a leak that erupted in  a drainage pipe that runs underneath it.
Jamison Drive is an approximately 1/4 mile stretch of road that runs in between Simply Southern Cafe and Grille and the Exxon Sprint Mart, just off Higway 8 West. It then climbs a hill to the south where it loops by the Hampton Inn and the Baymont Inn.
According to MDOT District Engineer Mitch Turner, perhaps because of earth settling, a pipe that ran under the road became stopped up.
