Grenadians may own three dogs, and three cats, or any combination thereof, according to an ordinance adopted by the city council after a public hearing Monday.
That’s six pets total that  a person may own within the limits.
City Attorney Mary Brown made the recommendation for the limit, after conversation with Code Compliance Officer Ammons and Police Chief Ben Williams.
“This seemed like a reasonable number,” Williams previously told the GrenadaStar. “We’re not against animals. We know people love animals. I love animals, but having too many places an undue burden on one’s neighbors, with waste and foul odors and barking and yelping all night.”
Williams said ordinances in other towns were checked.
“We felt that six was a fair number, and we researched and compared that with surrounding cities.”
