Grenada police cleverly cornered a man Monday who they say conspired to kill his wife.
According to Capt. George Douglas with the Grenada Police Department,  a man he identified as Robert Laspee, 33, was arrested Monday in a sting operation in which police staged a supposed break in on the 22,000 block of Highway 8 East.
Laspee was arrested at an undisclosed location and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
According to Douglas, Laspee is charged with conspiring to kill his wife, Angela Laspee, 35, also of Grenada.
“Laspee solicited the assistance of a confidential informant to commit the murder,” said Douglas.
The arrest originated from the efforts of the Grenada PD, special operations efforts, in assistance with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department, Douglas said.
Laspee is being held in the Grenada County Jail on $500,000 bond, Douglas said.
