Grenada police are investigating what they suspect to be a homicide that
took place sometime late Thursday or early Friday.
According to Capt. George Douglas, a man he identified as Keith Perry, 46,
was killed by an apparent gunshot wound.
Perry was found in a car, in the parking lot of the One Stop Shop on Hwy. 51
South, near the intersection of Perry Road, around 7 a.m., Douglas said.
Perry was pronounced dead on the scene by Grenada County Corner Eddie
“Skeeter” Robinson, Douglas said.
Douglas would not say if the apparent gun shot wound killed Perry, nor how
many times or with what caliber gun he appeared to be shot, only that
investigators from the state crime lab would soon arrive, process the scene
and conduct the autopsy.
Manley Morman, who lives near the scene, said that he heard what he thought
to be gunshots around 9 p.m. Thursday.
“As of the moment no motive or suspects have been developed,” said Douglas,
adding that an investigation was ongoing.
Douglas encouraged anyone with information relating to the incident to call
(662) 227-TIPS or (662) 226-1211.
