The Grenada Community Foundation has finished receiving applications and is preparing to award annual grants that benefit non-profits and students.
Five non-profits will each receive a $2,000 grant for community building, and a graduating senior from either Grenada High School or Kirk Academy will receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used for continuing education.
“Grenada Gives 365 (GG365)  is based on the old concept of neighbors helping neighbors,” said GCF President Deborah Hicks Midanek Bailey, in a press release.
“Neighbors, or as GG365 calls them, members, give $1 a day, or $365 a year, to GCF as a tax deductible donation. That money is then pooled with the other members’ money and the members vote on how it will be invested in the community,” said Midanek Bailey.
