TUPELO - Sometimes being a heavy favorite doesn’t turn out so good.
Other than a small bump in the road, it went according to plan for the Grenada Chargers Tuesday night.
Grenada opened Region 2-6A play against fourth-seeded Hernando. The Chargers won the two previous contests with little problem.
The Chargers got out of the gate quickly, jumping to a 16-2 advantage. Hernando made a run to get within 16-11. That would be as close as they would get. GHS ran off 10 straight points and went on to a 61-42 decision.
In the girls’ game, Grenada got down 24-1 and ended up on the short end of a 55-26 decision to South Panola.
