Grenada police and sheriff’s deputies pursued a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning and recovered stolen property after it crashed in east Grenada.
According to Capt. George Douglas with the Grenada Police Department, sheriff’s deputies were on patrol at about 4:30 a.m. when they noticed a silver Ford Explorer leaving the back parking lot of Club 100 on Jasper Neely Drive at a high rate of speed.
The SUV crashed in a one-vehicle accident at the corner of Martha Road and Vance Road, Douglas said.
The suspect or suspects fled on foot and were not caught, Douglas said. He couldn’t be sure how many there were.
Upon surveying the wreck, sheriff’s and police personnel discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from the 100 block of Snyder Street earlier Saturday, Douglas said.
