The sounds of the season will ring out in the Lake City in an effort to raise money for those affected by the recent typhoon in the Philippines.
The Rev. Jonathan Moore, pastor of Christian Life Church, will perform a special Christmas concert at First Presbyterian Church on Dec. 20, at 6:30 p.m.
The audience will be treated to a wide selection of Christmas music, in a variety of styles, according to Moore.
“We hope to bring the gift of diversity and beauty to our community by sharing some old, familiar Christmas music, as well as some fresh sounds,” said Moore. “The offering will assist ministry to those orphaned and affected by the typhoon in the Philippines, because we wished to offer a gift to them.”
Local piano man Mo Hubbard and Darren Welch will be among the musical guests.
Also slated to participate are the Rev. Elizabeth Wheatley-Jones, Tristan Crockett, Jarvis Benson, Kushun Knox, and Beth Moore.
“Holt International is a Christian organization committed to expressing God’s compassion for children,” said Moore. “While always upholding the highest ethical standards, we find and support permanent, loving families for children who are orphaned, abandoned or at serious risk of separation from their families,  provide services to ensure that children will grow and develop to their fullest potential and lead the global community in advocating on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children.”
