Kirk Academy’s Jordan Childs is fouled on a shot attempt during action Tuesday night at Grenada. The Raiders improved to 6-4 overall and 3-0 inside division play with a 36-31 win over the Green Wave.    First-year Kirk Academy boys coach Dennis Sims stopped short of saying that his team’s 36-31 was an ugly win.
In the end, it was all about winning, not how you looked doing it.
The Raiders had their troubles against the North Delta zone in the opening half managing just 10 points, but trailed just by five points.
In the fourth period, Kirk began to make some shots. The Raiders used an 11-0 run to build a seven-point advantage. They were able to hand on and win a 35-28 decision.
With the win, Kirk is 6-4 overall and 3-0 inside District 1-AA play. North Delta dropped to 1-7 overall and 1-2 inside the league.
In the girls’ game, the Raiderettes dropped a 50-41 decision.
