The Grenada Area Chamber of Commerce is under new leadership, and the interim director says he wants to continue the good work that’s already begun.
“I’m going to do everything possible to make sure the flow of positive work continues, and to be accessible to anyone who needs me,” said Larry Collins, a Grenada native who took over the top seat at the chamber Thursday.
Collins replaces Glenn Smith, who served in the position for  two years.
Collins was installed in the position by the chamber board.
“The Grenada Area Chamber of Commerce is in the process of restructuring, and we’re moving forward and we feel confident about Collins’s abilities,” said Board President Dolly Marasalco. “He has an excellent resume, and we feel that he’ll move us in the right direction.”
Collins is a 1986 graduate of Grenada High School. Much of his professional experience is on the executive side of education. He worked for Southeast College of Technology at locations in Memphis and Arkansas, as well as for High-Tech Institute Inc., and Remington College, Inc.
Collins received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Arkansas State University.
Collins came onboard with the chamber about three weeks ago in a supportive role, Marascalco said.
