The Grenada Chargers are in the midst of their best season in over a decade.
Now, GHS has the task of locking up with the most successful program in the state over the past 10 years. The South Panola Tigers have won 10 state championships and setting their sights on another on this season.
The teams meet for first place in Region 1-6A tonight in Batesville. Grenada could win the game and still finish as their third seed in the region. Tupelo has the tiebreaker by virtue of a 34-7 win  over the Chargers earlier this season.
“Their record speaks for itself,” Grenada Coach Ashley Kuhn said. “They have won 22 straight over in state opposition. Before that, they had a streak of 88-89 in a row.”
