A car carrying four males crashed into a light pole in north-central Grenada on Friday, and the occupants then fled on foot, according to Grenada police.
Chief Ben Williams said that four males were traveling south on Gayosa Street in a 1995 Buick Roadmaster when the driver apparently lost control and struck a light pole shortly after 2 p.m.
The occupants of the car abandoned the vehicle and ran off in an undisclosed direction, Williams said.
The smell of alcohol was strong in the vehicle, Williams said.
The car was registered to Terrance Parker of Grenada, age unknown, the chief added.
The car was not reported stolen, so, as of now, there is no reason to believe the vehicle was stolen, Williams said.
   An investigation is ongoing.
