A Eupora policeman was killed Wednesday while helping capture fugitives who apparently fled Grenada after a  robbery.
According to Sgt. Chriss Turnipseed, public affairs officer with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Troop G, Officer Keith Crenshaw, 52, was stuck by a car and killed as he laid spikes across the road  to stop fugitives, who apparently robbed the Speedee Cash at the corner of Highway  8 and Highway 51 South in Grenada.
According to Capt. George Douglas with the Grenada Police Department, a preliminary investigation revealed that three males entered the Speedee Cash shortly after 9 a.m. and demanded money.
A source at Speedee Cash said that the suspects held guns to the employees’ heads and made away with the contents of one cash drawer, totaling about $185. No one was hurt, the source said, and the encounter lasted less than a minute.
