Jerry Edward McKelroy
Funeral services for Jerry Edward McKelroy, 71, of Tillatoba, are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in the Rosebloom Community.
Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
Jerry died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at his home in Tillatoba.
He was born on May 17, 1942, and was the son of the late Thomas Edgar McKelroy and Connie Elizabeth Lantrip McKelroy of Bruce. He is also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne McKelroy.
Jerry was a retired machinist for Heatcraft. He was a member of the Bruce Methodist Church and also served in the National Guard for eight years.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rachael Ingram McKelroy of Tillatoba; one daughter, Christy Lambert of Scobey; one son, Tim McKelroy of Grenada; a brother, Leroy “Pete” McKelroy of Coldwater; five grandchildren, Blair, Kaylee, and Lainee McKelroy and Dana and Koty Lambert; and a great-grandchild, Kira Starr Williams.

John Palmer Shelley
Funeral services for John Palmer “J.P.” Shelley, 42, of Piperton, Tenn., are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Central Church, 2005 E. Winchester Road, Collierville, Tenn.
Mr. Shelley died Oct. 4, 2013. He was gunned down, the victim of a robbery.
He was born on June 28, 1971, in Memphis, and was the son of Joy Hancock and the late James “Johnny” Shelley.
Mr. Shelley was an expert contractor known for his skillful craftsmanship. He spent time as a professional chef and loved to cook for his family and friends. He was a graduate of Germantown High School and attended Mississippi State University. Mr. Shelley loved hunting, gardening and renovating homes for his family.
In addition to his mother, surviving Mr. Shelley are his wife of nearly 19 years, Beverly Shelley of Pipeton; daughter, Emme; son, Palmer; sister, Alexa of Boone, N.C.; brother, J. Andrew of Boston, Mass.; in-laws: Jerry and Phoebe Corder formerly of Grenada and Matt and Lisa Harris of Memphis.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up for his family at Metropolitan Bank, 1661 Aaron Brenner Drive, Memphis, TN 38120 or donations may be made to Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville.

Sara Virginia Steen
A graveside service for Sara Virginia “Tittie” Steen, 82, of Picayune will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home.
Mrs. Steen died Oct. 6, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Picayune.
She was born in Philipp to the late Tollie and Della Mae Tracey Sivley.
Mrs. Steen was a homemaker and a member of Lyon Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Steen in death are her husband, George Steen, her brothers, Tollie, James and Hubert, and a sister, Dot.
She is survived by three daughters, Tollese Trahan of Lafayette, La., Gene Ballard of Lanet, Ala., Kathy Dickerson of Picayune; a sister, Emily Byrd of Greenwood; seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
