Grenada’s new office for the Mississippi Highway Patrol should be open by December, if construction continues to go well, according to the architect.
George Mullen said that the project is proceeding on pace and may even finish ahead of schedule.
“Things are looking good and coming along nicely,” said Mullen, who designed the 1,500-square-foot building located on the campus of the Grenada County Building on Fairground St.
Grenada’s previous MHP office closed in June 2012 because the building was in disrepair. Since then Grenadians have had to go either to Batesville or to Greenwood to get their driver’s licenses renewed.
