Some 3,800 Entergy customers remained without power Wednesday morning after strong winds whipped through the area Tuesday.
According to Customer Account Manager Jim Lyles, the energy provider was working on at least  60 individual cases affecting Grenada, Yalobusha, Carroll and Tallahatchie counties.
“There are 10 extra crews in route to the area to assist in tree cutting and restoration,” said Lyles.
In Grenada County, areas affected included Holcomb, east, to Salem Church Rd.; Nelia Rd., west, to Hwy. 35; from Geeslin Corner to Tillatoba, as well as Glenwild and Tie Plant.
A utility pole was also down near Spain’s Grocery in downtown Grenada, causing power to be out for several residents on South St., Lyles said.
As of 10 a.m., Lyles said that it could be Thursday evening before power was restored to all residents.
