Grenada County Sheriff’s deputies have made a second arrest and have recovered several of the items stolen from a home in Gore Spring in January.
According to Sheriff Alton Strider, a man he identified as Robert Shane Scallions, 35, was arrested in connection with a home burglary that occurred on January 31.
Deputies previously arrested Terry Slaughter, 50, of Elliott, when he was seen driving the Chevrolet Z71 pickup that was reported stolen from a home on the 2400 block of Providence Rd.
Deputies charged Slaughter with possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Chief Investigator Josh Dale.
Deputies were acting on an anonymous tip Tuesday, Strider said, when they recovered a Polaris all-terrain-vehicle, a motorcycle, numerous tools, wheels and an engine at a private residence in Yalobusha County.
Strider said that deputies are pursuing another suspect and that an investigation is ongoing.
