A Grenada sawmill is expanding its operations and bringing 30 new jobs to the Lake City.
Fly Timber Company will provide hardwood rail ties to be shipped within the U.S., as well as to Canada and Latin America.
The expansion represents a company investment of more than $6 million and will bring the total number of employees to 80.
“This is a great opportunity for our company to create more jobs in Grenada County, and I appreciate the Grenada Economic Development District bringing together the Mississippi Development Authority, the county, the Mississippi Business Finance Corporation and other resources to make it work,” said Ricky Fly, owner of the 32 year-old Grenada company.
