Grenada High School first baseman Dalton Thomas slides safely into second base during a game last week at home with Kosciusko. The Chargers have raced to an 8-0 start. Today, GHS puts that unbeaten mark on the line against Columbus to open Region 2-6A action. The Falcons bring a 10-2 mark into the game including four wins in a tournament in Orlando, Fla., over spring break. Gametime is set for 4 p.m. with the junior varsity followed by the varsity.

The Grenada High School Chargers are off to their best start in the seven years that Jake Yarborough has been the head coach.
But, that quick start won’t mean a whole lot if GHS doesn’t take care of things tonight. The Chargers open Region 2-6A play at home with the Columbus Falcons. It’s the first of six region games, but doubly important because it is at home.
“Our guys have played really well to start the season,” Yarborough said. “Hopefully, we can keep this going into region play.”
