An 18-wheeler carrying propane ran off the road and overturned Tuesday morning just north of Grenada.
According to sources on the scene, driver Robert Kimber lost control of his vehicle and crashed on Hwy. 7, about a mile east of the I-55 intersection.
Sources with the Mississippi Highway Patrol said they received the call at 9:48 a.m.
The cause of the accident was unclear and an official report from the MHP was unavailable as of Thursday morning.
According to David McCluskey, transport manager for Scott Petroleum, Kimber was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis and was released later that evening.
Kimber came from Hattiesburg and was carrying a full load of about 8,400 gallons of propane to a staging tank in Water Valley, sources said.
