James Kenneth Allison
   Funeral services for James Kenneth Allison, 69, of Tippo, were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Tippo Methodist Church. Burial followed in Tippo Cemetery.
   Mr. Allison died March 3, 2013, at DeSoto Baptist Hospital in Southaven.  
   He was the son of Geneva Allison of Tippo and the late James Lacy Allsion.
   Mr. Allison was a farmer and a member of Tippo Methodist Church.
   In addition to his mother, surviving Mr. Allison are his wife, Patsy Allison of Tippo; daughter, Angela Blount of Grenada; son, Jon Allison of Tippo; sister, Elsie Johnson, of Cleveland, Tenn.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
   Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Greek L. Cunningham Jr.
   Greek L. Cunningham Jr., “G. L.,” 90, of Grenada, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Grenada Living Center.
   He was born March 16, 1922, in Grenada County to Greek L. Cunningham Sr. and Fannie Sellers Cunningham.
   He was a retired barber/stylist and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was also a long time member of the Grenada Civitan Club, Zero Hunting Club and the Gideon Society. He was a 25-year Rotarian and past president of the Mississippi Barbers Association. Mr. Cunningham was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Destroyer Squadron 48 Navy Veterans Association. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
   Visitation was Thursday, March 7, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services followed at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Dr. Brent Barker and Bro. Phillip Cook officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery in Oxberry.
   Survivors include two daughters, Melba Cunningham Detlefsen (Bill) of Eugene, Ore., and Beth Cunningham Kelch (Marvin) of Sugarland, La.; one son, Wayne Taylor (Pat) of Grenada; two sisters, Angeline Brewer of Florence, Ala., and Vivijean Dewberry of Collierville, Tenn.; and one brother, Joe Edgar Cunningham of Fritch, Texas. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Taylor Cunningham; his parents, Greek L. Cunningham Sr. and Fannie Sellers Cunningham; three sisters, Eunice Priscilla Cunningham, Josephine Mims and Clyde Murphy; and two brothers, Archie Cunningham and James Cunningham.
   The family requests that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church-Oxberry Cemetery Fund, c/o Lynda Lee, 307 Delta Wing Rd., Holcomb, MS 38940.

William Mack Dickey
   Funeral services for William “Billy” Mack Dickey, 89, of Water Valley, were at noon Wednesday, March 6, in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
   Mr. Dickey died March 4, 2013, at his home in Water Valley.  
   He was born on Oct. 2, 1923, in Water Valley to the late Marvin and Leither Rampy Dickey.  
   Mr. Dickey served in the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of VFW. He worked as a mechanic for Trusty International Harvester and was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church in Water Valley. He enjoyed making jewelry and music. He played many instruments including the guitar, fiddle, lap steel, bass guitar, and the mouth organ.
   In addition to his parents, preceding Mr. Dickey in death are his first wife, Evelyn Baggett Dickey; a daughter, Pat Hollowell; and two brothers, James Dickey and Donald Dickey.
   Surviving Mr. Dickey are his wife, Minnie Mae Dickey of Water Valley; four daughters, Sherry Black of Lonoke, Ark., Janice Akins of Water Valley, Becky Keel of Foley, Ala., and Linda Webb Underwood of Batesville; son, Richard Webb of Batesville; two sisters, Mary Alice Dickey Hayles of Water Valley and Hilda Mae Dickey of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Bobby Joe Dickey and Marvin Wayne Dickey of Water Valley, Richard Dean Dickey of Texas; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
   Seven Oaks Funeral Home was in charge.

Gilbert Lee Floyd
   Funeral services for Gilbert Lee Floyd Sr., 86, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
   Visitation is Friday from noon until service time at National Funeral Home Chapel.
   Mr. Floyd died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital.
   He was born on Nov.  17, 1926, and was the son of Clarence and Fannie Whittemore Floyd of Grenada.
   Gilbert was employed by Jack Eaton Meats as a salesman.  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada.  Gilbert was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II.  He was a member of the VFW Post 4488.
   Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife, Alice Floyd of Grenada; one daughter, Kim Taylor of Grenada; three sons, Randy Floyd of Gore Springs, Gilbert Lee “Skip” Floyd Jr. of Tunica and Don Floyd of Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister, Helen Burney of Coffeeville; two brothers, Bill Floyd and Joe Floyd, both of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Drake McCammon and Graham Floyd; and one great-granddaughter, Kairi McCammon.
   National Funeral Home is in charge.

Johnnie Ann Fullilove
   A memorial service for Johnnie Ann Fullilove, 57, of Vaiden, was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel.
   Mrs. Fullilove died March 1, 2013, at University Medical Center in Jackson of heart failure.
   She was the daughter of the late Johnny Earl and Patsy Ann Johnston James.
   Mrs. Fullilove was a former shift manager for 35-55 Truck Stop in Vaiden and High Point Truck Stop in Winona.
   In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Fullilove in death is her husband, Jack Fullilove.
   Survivors include a brother, Jason James of Vaiden; a niece, Kristen James of Vaiden; and a special friend, Bryan Herring of Vaiden.

Maxie Pullen
   Funeral services for Maxie Pullen, 80, of Kilmichael, are at  11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael.  
   Mr. Pullen died March 6, 2013, at his residence of heart failure.
   He was the son of the late Thomas Preston and Leola Youngblood Pullen.  
   Mr. Pullen was a retired farmer, cattleman, and truck driver.He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Big Black Masonic Lodge and a Baptist.  
   In addition to his parents, preceding him Pullen in death are  his brother, Mickey Pullen and a granddaughter, Pazlee Greenlee.  
   Survivors include his wife, Shirley Braswell Pullen of Kilmichael; three daughters, Mackie Greenlee of Kilmichael, Mitzie Henson of Sarasota, Fla., and Christy Pullen Brown of Meridian; two sisters, Wavylon Orsborn of Winona and Mary Morgan of Winona; nine grandchildren and six great-grandsons.

Betty Joy Carpenter Smith
   Funeral services for Betty Joy Carpenter Smith, 76, of Grenada, are at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
   Mrs. Smith died March 5, 2013 at her home.
   She was born on June 10, 1936, and was the daughter of Henry Charles Carpenter and Lula May Shelton Carpenter of Grenada.
   Mrs. Smith was employed by Heatcraft in the sheet metal department until her retirement. She was a graduate of John Rundle High School in Grenada. Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada and also attended Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada.  
   Surviving Mrs. Smith are two sons, Terry Wayne Smith of Madison and Greg Smith of Grenada; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
