A Grenada girl has been honored for raising funds to combat childhood diabetes.
Hailey Self, 10, raised more than $4,000 of sponsorship money for a walk in Jackson to raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes.
That makes Hailey the biggest, individual fund-raiser who took part in the walk.
“I could never have done it without the help of the nice people in Grenada,” said Self. She sold T-shirts and bracelets and accepted donations.
