The Grenada Economic Development District has a new project manager with a resume that spans journalism, public relations and job creation.
Janie Mortimer joined EDD Executive Director Pablo Diaz last month, and she said she’s excited about their partnership.
“Pablo is probably one of the smartest and hardest working economic developers in the state, and it’s great to be in a position, in a county where there’s so much support for the work we do,” said Mortimer.
Mortimer is a native of Montgomery County. Her first career was as a journalist. She worked for papers in Aberdeen and Columbus as well as for the Clarion Ledger and Mississippi Magazine.
From there Mortimer began working in public relations with Jackson public schools. She worked for the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, then for the Washington County Industrial Foundation.
