The Grenada Water and Sewer Department has a new interim superintendent.
According to City Manager Charles “Jo Jo” Weathers, Dale Ratliff was appointed to the top position on Feb. 8.
Ratliff, a six-year city employee, replaces Mark Tilghman.
Tilghman will stay on at the water department as an operator, Weathers said. Weathers would not elaborate on why Ratliff replaced Tilghman. City officials cannot discuss personnel matters, Weathers said.
“I’m confident that Dale is capable of doing this job well, and he’s certainly a deserving person to have the position,” said Weathers.
Ratliff anticipated that his hours will increase, and he said he looked forward to serving the community in his new capacity.
Tilghman could not be reached for comment.
