Grenada County residents can now pay for their car tag, personal property and land taxes online.
The tax assessor’s office just started an online bill-paying system, and David Melton said several Grenadians have already used it.
“These days people like the convenience of paying their bills online – I know I do – and we wanted to offer this as a service to our customers,” said Melton.
The website is www.GrenadaCountyMS.org. From there, users are directed to one of three options, depending on the type of tax they wish to pay.
There is a small fee involved.
The county contracts with a third party, called Official Payments, to collect the money. The fee Official Payments charges is included in the transaction that the customer pays. The payment goes straight to the third party.
