Grenada police have retained one suspect and released another in connection with a shooting in Newsome Alley last month.
According to Capt. George Douglas,  a man he identifed as Larry “Red” Jackson was released Tuesday after the victim, A’Daryl Wiley, said in court that Jackson wasn’t among those who shot him.
Wiley was shot Jan. 13 in Newsome Alley at  about 9 p.m.
Police retained a man Douglas identified as Kevin Meeks (Meyers), in connection with the Newsome Alley shooting, based on Wiley’s testimony.
Meeks was bound over to the grand jury on the charge of aggravated assault, Douglas said, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
