   Commentary by Oliver Parks

I am back to discuss and elaborate on a point I made in a previous article about our country being founded on Christian principles.
It is becoming more apparent with all the events that led up to our most recent presidential election about how ugly racism is, and that it does still exist more widespread than we realize.
Before you can understand where I am coming from, you would have to read Ephesians 1-2 in the Bible. Before Christ came to earth, the Jews had declared themselves so much better than the Gentiles that it was impossible for them to mix.
This is where the Apostle Paul wrote one of his letters stating that Jesus came to restore peace for all of God’s children, especially those who never heard of God.
Let me tell you a little bit about my life. I was born in 1927 when President Calvin Coolidge was in office. Since then, I have lived to see 12 presidents, both Democrat and Republican, prior to President Obama. Never in my lifetime before President Obama was elected have I ever heard the statements “take our country back” or any mention of “withdrawing from the union” or anything about race wars.
At one time I had the utmost respect for Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham, but after watching how they treated the African American lady regarding the CIA issues I really don’t know anymore.
Go ahead and have a civil war and race war, separate from the U.S., and destroy the country. Guess who will benefit. Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and many of the Bin Ladens of the world will benefit.
There are many different races in this country, and I believe God made them all. Nobody is going anywhere, so it would benefit us all to accept that fact sooner than later and learn to live together in harmony.
I always say, “United we stand, divided we fall.”
