Frances Colvin
Funeral services for Frances Colvin, 56, of Water Valley, are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at First United Pentecostal Church in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Colvin died Jan. 30, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Water Valley to John and Mary Lois Anderson Landreth.
Mrs. Colvin enjoyed teaching her special needs students at East Tallahatchie School District. She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She dearly loved the Lord, her church and her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janell White.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Colvin is survived by her husband, Archie Colvin; a daughter, Mollie Marie Colvin; a son, Justin Colvin; and seven grandchildren.

Marie Ashmore Johnson
Funeral services for Marie Ashmore Johnson, 65, of Charleston, are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Community Full Gospel Assembly. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Enid.
Mrs. Johnson died Feb. 2, 2013, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1948, in Charleston, to Richard Lois Ashmore Sr. and Iva Mae Robinson Ashmore.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Brian Roberts; a brother, R. L. Ashmore; and a grandson, Gary DeToma Jr.
In addition to her mother, survivors include a daughter, Melanie Roberts of Decatur, Ga.; a son, Rick Roberts of Atlanta; two sisters, Elaine Venable of Charleston and Gail Peters of Oxford; two brothers, Kenneth Ashmore of Kosciusko and Michael Ashmore of Laurel; and a grandson.

Dorothy Collins Bailey Kiihnl
A private service for Dorothy Collins Bailey Kiihnl, 89, of Batesville, was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Batesville Church of Christ. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery near Enid.
Mrs. Kiihnl died Jan. 30, 2012.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1923, in Tennessee and was the daughter of George Harrison Collins and Mary Myrtle Rippey Collins.
Mrs. Kiihnl was a human services clerk and a member of Batesville Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Kiihnl in death are her husbands, Brady D. Bailey and J. W. Kiihnl.
Surviving Mrs. Kiihnl are two daughters, Ellen Bailey Clark and Susan Bailey Reed of Batesville; two sons, Gerald Bailey of Vicksburg and Rickey T. Bailey of Surprize, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Collins Morrow of Pulaski, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Henry Lumas
Funeral services for Henry Lumas, 64, of Grenada, were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Burning Bush M.B. Church. Burial followed in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Lumas died Jan. 30, 2013, at Grenada Lake Medical Center of cancer.
He was a self-employed brick mason. He enjoyed fishing.

Hazel Pack
Funeral services for Hazel Pack, 85, of Batesville, are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Miss Pack died Feb. 1, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Batesville.
She was born on June 14, 1926, in Calhoun County, to Walter “Watt” and Willie Mattie Pearl Jones Adams.
Miss Pack was a member of Mt. Liberty Baptist Church, a homemaker and mother to three adopted grandchildren whom she raised. She was an avid coin collector and enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy. She loved playing cards, dancing every Saturday night at the VFW, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Peacock; five sisters, Helen Leipstorff, Minnie Johnson, Catherine Ross, Louise Doris and Sally Hanson; a grandson, Jeffrey Peacock.
Survivors include her companion of over five years, Otis Sorrells of Marks, Miss.; two sons, Rickey Peacock and Randy Peacock, both of Coffeeville; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Perry Wayne Spence
A private memorial service for Perry Wayne “Coach Payne” Spence, 69, of Charleston is planned for a later date.
Mr. Spence died Jan. 31, 2013, at Tallahatchie General Hospital.
He was born in Poinsett County, Ark., to Lenden Neal Spence and Mattie Lillard Spence.
Mr. Spence served for 23 years as a coach and teacher at Strider Academy.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon Shane Spence of Hernando and Adnis Paxton Spence of Jupiter, Fla.; a step-son, Rodney Tayne Tubberville of Charleston; a sister, Martha Floyd of Franklin, Tenn.; two brothers, Vernon Spence of Southaven and James Spence of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

J. V. Swindle
Funeral services for J. V. Swindle of Magee were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Choctaw County. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora and on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Swindle died Jan. 26, 2013, at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins.
He was a retired high school administrator, educator and coach.
