Samuel Anthony Carollo
   Samuel Anthony “Sam” Carollo, 75, of Grenada, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Providence. He was born on Feb. 6, 1937, to Charles Joseph Carollo and Gertrude Lucile Thornton Carollo. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Sam was also an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed every day outside. He was a big fan of Mississippi State and loved to ring a cowbell. He was an outspoken person, who never met a stranger. Sam was always on the go, and to those who knew him, he would give the shirt off his back to help them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.
   Sam served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1959 in Yokosuka, Japan. He  coached in the Leflore County Schools, Vicksburg Schools, and the Greenwood Public Schools at Greenwood High. He later served as Assistant Principal at Bankston Elementary School in Greenwood and was also a principal with the Grenada Public Schools. He was later employed with Vision Research in Birmingham, Ala.
   Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Emmanuel Baptist Church from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at 10 a.m., at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Clarence Cooper officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Stoneville Cemetery in Stoneville, Miss.
   Mr. Carollo is survived by his wife Sally Harris Carollo; four sons, Bert Carollo (LaDonna) of Brookhaven, Chuck Carollo of Winona, Robert Carollo (Maggie) of Grenada and Sammy Carollo (Kathy) of Grenada. He is also survived by five sisters, Roselyn St. Clair (Ed) of Denham Springs, La., Camille Doiron (Warren) of Vicksburg, Sarah Marie Stanton of Greenville, Linda Winter of Jonesboro, Ark., and Barbara Ivy (David) of Braxton. He is survived by six brothers, Charlie Carollo of Greenville, Otis Carollo of Raymond, William “Billy” Carollo (Glenda) of Leland, Alphonse Carollo (Wanda) of Tuttle, Okla., James Carollo of North Port, Ala., and Mike Carollo (Vicki) of Madison. He is survived by nine grandchildren, Sarah, Kathleen, Jake, Anna, Aidan, Anthony, Alexa, Allye and Mary Margaret Carollo.
   Mr. Carollo was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Joseph Carollo; and two brothers, Johnny Carollo and Paul Carollo.
   The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Batson’s Children’s Hospital in Jackson, LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, The American Cancer Society research for glyoblastoma multi-form, or any charity of the donor’s choice.

Larry Jeff Haynes
   Funeral services for Larry Jeff Haynes, 58, of Grenada, were at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, at the National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
   Visitation was Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
   Larry died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at his home.
   He was born on Feb. 4, 1954, and was the son of Grady Haynes and Bobbie Mitchell Haynes of Duck Hill.
   Larry was employed by Luvata as a machinist. He also worked as a truck driver.
   Mr. Haynes is survived by his wife, Nita Haynes of Grenada; one son, Bradly Haynes of Grenada; one daughter, April Winstead of Winona; two step-sons, Jeremy Norris of Grenada and Mikey Norris of Tillatoba; one step-daughter, Heather Power of Grenada; five sisters, Betty Ann Abel, Sarah Laster, Patsy Wilson, Glenda Sanford, and Sonja Lanahan, all of Duck Hill; three brothers, Joe Haynes of Grenada and Jimmy Haynes and Terry Haynes, both of Duck Hill; and three grandchildren.
   National Funeral Home was in charge.

A. J. Minga Jr.
   Funeral services for Andrew Jackson “A. J.“ Minga Jr., 74, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the National Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
   Visitation is Monday, Jan. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
   A.J. died Jan. 25, 2013, at his home.
   He was born on Nov. 26, 1938, and was the son of Andrew Jackson Minga Sr. and Louise Carpenter Minga of Grenada.
   A.J., who was also known as “Candy Man,” was a retired Grenada County Supervisor. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, the Civitan Club, the Exchange Club and the Community Club of Gore Springs.
   Mr. Minga is survived by his wife, Jerri Minga of Grenada; three daughters, Andrea Allen Curry of Holcomb, Destiny Bowers of Grenada and Jettie Fleming of Booneville, Miss.; two sons, Chuck Mings of Pickwick, Tenn., and Andy Minga of Grenada; one sister, Peggy Ragsdale of Grenada; two brothers, Roy Minga of Gloster, Miss., and Larry Minga of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Beth Minga, Johnny Allen, Hunter Jackson, Savannah Jackson, Grace Bowers, Easton Curry and Tabitha Roberts; six great-grandchildren, Damian Johnson, Julian Minga, Reila Jackson, Kasey, Moochie and Tater; one great-great-grandchild, Rain; and a host of nieces and nephews.
   National Funeral Home is in charge.

Dr. Ronald Eugene Osborne
   Funeral services for Dr. Ronald Eugene Osborne, 76, of Grenada, were at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County.
   Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
   Dr. Osborne died Jan. 25, 2013, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
   He was born on Jan. 10, 1937, and was the son of Randall Clifton Osborne and Thelma Grace Walters Osborne of Texas.
   Dr. Osborne graduated from Auburn University in 1961 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and was a practicing veterinarian for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grenada. He also volunteered as a tutor with the GLAD program in Grenada.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Grace Osborne; his wife, Glendyne Osborne; one sister, Dortha Hoing; and one brother, Richard Garner Osborne.
   Dr. Osborne is survived by three sons, Clif Osborne (Delight) of Grenada, Richard Osborne (Crystal) of Grenada, Jay Osborne (Jennifer) of Petal, Miss., and John Osborne of Gallatin, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, Daniel Osborne, Kaitlin Osborne Renfro, Traci Osborne Forrest, Meribrooke Osborne, Ryals Osborne, Rivers Grace Osborne, Ashley Osborne, Amber Osborne, Jase Osborne, Josh Osborne, Josey Osborne, Julianna Osborne and Evan Osborne; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin Forrest and Olivia Renfro.
   Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 316 Bolton Hill Road, Duck Hill, MS 38925.

Morris J. Tucker
   Graveside services for Morris J. Tucker, 87, of Grenada, are at 3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton.
   Visitation is Monday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
   Morris died Jan. 25, 2013, at the Grenada Living Center.
   He was born on Dec. 16, 1925, and was the son of Jim F. Tucker and Sally Flanagan Tucker of Rolling Fork.
   Mr. Tucker was employed as an automotive body and fender repairman. He was  also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
   In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by one son, James H. Tucker.
   Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Betty Tollison Tucker of Gore Springs; one son, Morris “Ed“ Tucker of Arkansas; one sister, Alma L. Williams of Pearl, Miss.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kay Wilborn
   Graveside services for Kay Wilborn, 93, of Grenada, were at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
   Visitation was Saturday from 2 until 3 p.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel.
   Kay died Jan. 25, 2013, at Providence Health Care.
   She was born on Mar. 18, 1919, and was the daughter of Walter James and Lorilla Hetrick Shaver of New Freedom, Pa.
   Kay was retired from Grenada School System as a secretary.  Kay was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lorilla Shaver; and by her husband, Floyd Gayle Wilborn.
   Mrs. Wilborn is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Mayhan (Mark) of Grenada; one son, James Gayle Wilborn (Katie Sue) of Grenada; three grandchildren, Christopher Robin Wilborn, Mark Andrew Mayhan and John Stephen Mayhan; and two great-grandchildren, Mia Ann Wilborn and Luke Andrew Mayhan.
   National Funeral Home was in charge.
