A Holcomb child is traumatized, his father said, after being bitten severely on the face by a pit bulldog Monday evening.
More than 70 stitches were need to close the wound on the boy’s face.
Sheriff Alton Strider verified that a 9-year-old was attacked in the threshold of a neighbor’s door on Whitfield Rd.
“Apparently the child knocked on the door, and the dog came through the door and bit him on the right side of his face,” said Strider.
Lucas Harbin said that since the attack, his son wakes in the night, asking if the dog is going to get him.
“My son is completely traumatized,” Harbin said. “We’ve had to remove even the two house cats because he’s scared of all animals.”
