Staff Report

Three murder cases, including two capital cases, are on the Grenada County Circuit Court docket for January, records shows.
Facing capital murder charges are the two men arrested in connection with the death of Grenada Police Capt. John Wayne Haddock in October of 2011.
Haddock was struck while trying to put out spike strips to stop a car from entering a busy intersection near the Highway 8-Interstate 55 overpass during a high speed chase.
Kyle David Wendt (aka Ryan James Dunn), 20 at the time of his arrest, of Colorado and Thomas Leland Lee, 40 at the time of his arrest, of West Monroe, La., have  been jailed since the incident.
Officials with the district attorney’s office told the GrenadaStar that although the cases are on the docket, they do not expect a trial during this court session due to procedural delays.
Also facing a murder charge is Reginald Singleton, who is accused of shooting J.B. Reed on East Street in April of last year.
The session is scheduled to begin Monday, with Judge Joey Loper presiding.
