The GrenadaStar has learned that Kirk Academy head football coach Katlan French has resigned from his position.
French was hired in June to replace Rick Johnston. In his only season, the Raiders finished 3-8.
“Coach French decided that his coaching career would be further enhanced elsewhere,” Kirk Headmaster Ray Freeman said Thursday. “We wish him well, and feel like he has a bright future in coaching. From our standpoint, it is time to move on, and search for a replacement.”
Freeman and Board President Brent Thomas said that a search has begun to find replacement.
