Funeral services for Rex Bailey, 89, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the National Funeral Chapel in Grenada. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
Rex died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
He was born on July 27, 1923, and was the son of Richard and Ina Christine Kilgore Bailey of Big Creek, Miss.
Rex was retired from Rex Bailey Sand and Gravel as the owner. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Grenada. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marines serving during WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Rexine Hyde and her husband, Terry, of Grenada; two sisters, Doris Blackwelder of Grenada and Betty Bradford of Calhoun City; one brother, Rick Bailey of Southaven; two grandchildren, Christy Turner and Tracy Elliott, and her husband, Ray; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Golden, Karly Woods, Blake Woods and Brady Elliott.
Dr. Cecil Fayard will be officiating the services.

Graveside services for Willie “Bill” Bickerstaff Chapuis, 93, of Grenada, are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Mrs. Chapuis died Jan. 5, 2013.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1919, in Grenada, to William and Mattie Pearl Thompson Bickerstaff.
Mrs. Chapuis was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ray Chapuis.
Survivors include a daughter, Jaqueline Vesey of Memphis; a son, Bobby Chapuis of Clarksville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Bobby Ray Cox Sr.
Funeral services for Bobby Ray Cox Sr., 75, of Blackhawk, were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Oliver Chapel in Winona. Burial followed in Blackhawk Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cox died Jan. 4, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Watson and Wilna Cox; and two daughters, Gloria Ann Timbs and Judy Lane Echols.
Survivors include his wife, Leler Mae Cox; a daughter, Dotty Elder of Slidell, La.; a son, Bobby Ray Cox Jr. of Blackhawk; two sisters, Evelyn Winters of Indianola and Eunice Pittman of Greenwood; three brothers, O.M. James Torrence Ellett
Funeral services for James Torrence “J.T.” Ellett, 84, of Charleston, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Womble Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in New Hope Presbyterian Cemetery.
Mr. Ellett died Jan. 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Tillatoba to James Montgomery Ellett and Ida Nettie Little Ellett.
Mr. Ellett was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. He was a Highway Department employee.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lynn Rideout Ellett; a daughter, Gay Hodges of Scobey; three sons, Terry Ellett, Jerry Ellett, and Doyle Ellett, all of Scobey; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was born on Mar. 26, 1916, in Calhoun County, to Henry and Ginny Sartin Vaughn.
Mrs. Ellzy was a retired school teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Ellzy; two children; and a grandchild.
Survivors include a daughter, Janie White of Courtland; a sister, Ruth Smith of Oxford; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Horald Ralph Eure Sr.
Memorial services for Horald Ralph Eure Sr., 69, of Gore Springs, were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Gore Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Eure donated his body to science.
He died Jan. 1, 2013, at Grenada Lake Medical Center of a heart attack.
Mr. Eure worked for 30 years at his mother’s furniture store in Georgia. He worked as an RN for about two years. Mr. Eure was a member of Gore Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Vivian Sue Eure of Gore Springs; a son, Horald Ralph Eure II of Texas; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Martha Jane King
Martha Jane King, 86, of Grenada, born July 17, 1926, in Carroll County, to parents, David and Margaret Etta Costilow Little, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. She was of the Church of Christ faith. She will be remembered for her giving nature and genuine compassion. She was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Melvin Lloyd King and Theo Bill Wright; her son, Robert A. King; and her brothers, Leslie Little, Bobby Little, and Tillman Little.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Kathy King Temple of Sherwood, Ark., and her grandchildren, Tiffany McDonald of Cleburne, Texas, Jeremy McDonald of Lago Vista, Texas, Corby King of Florida, and Josh King of Oxford. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn King of Florida and Alexis and Brandon King of Oxford; and her sister, Burtine Little of Grenada.
A celebration of life services will be held for family and friends in her honor at a later date and time.

Kathleen Brown Mitchell
Kathleen Brown Mitchell, 92, of Grenada died Jan. 6, 2013. She was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Grenada, to Solan and Susie Covington Brown.
She was a member of Rosebloom Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Rex Brown; and three sisters, Hazel Turpin, Ruth Epperson and Trixie Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Mitchell; two sons, F.B. Mitchell Jr. of Chafin, S.C., and Tommy Mitchell of Lambert, Miss.; two daughters, Betty Huffman and Faye Burdine of Grenada; three grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 from 1-2 pm. at Garner-Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Garner-Harper Chapel. Interment will follow in Oddfellow Cemetery in Grenada.

Steven died Jan. 1, 2013, at his home.
He was born on Mar. 31, 1961, and was the son of Sam Hilliard Vickers and Mary Virginia Hodges Vickers.
Steven was employed by Penske as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Vickers.
Mr. Vickers is survived by his daughter, Chasity Vickers of Grenada; his son, Eric Vickers of Gainesville, Fla.; his father and step-mother, Sam Hilliard Vickers and Mary E. Vickers of Alvin, Texas; one sister, Vicky Clark (Jimmy) of Greenwood; one brother, Chris Vickers (Donna) of Grenada; and one granddaughter, Kerstin Vickers of Grenada.
