Officials are cautioning residents to be aware of changing weather conditions today as Grenada could get hit with baseball-sized hail.

| With severe thunderstorms threatening Grenada County, city and county officials are warning people to stay inside when and if bad weather occurs. "Take cover and stay away from windows," said Mayor Billy Collins, "and if you are in a manufactured home, get away and find shelter in a sturdy building elsewhere." The Grenada School District planned to release students at 12:30 p.m. and according to Grenada Civil Defense Director George Frazier, DeSoto County was reported to having dime-sized hail this morning. "We've been blessed to not have anything yet," Frazier said this morning. The Grenada Fire Department issued a statement saying that a disaster supply kit should be ready with at least the following items. - A three day water supply, one gallon per person per day minimum.
- A three day supply of non perishable food. Be sure to have enough food for infants, elderly, and people with special dietary needs.
- Battery operated flashlights with extra batteries.
- Officials advise against using candles in case of natural gas or LP gas leaks.
- Enough needed medicines for at least three days.
- A first aid kit.
- Battery operated radio with extra batteries.
