Grenada School District has completed the search and interview processes for the positions of principal at the Grenada Middle School and the K-1 Grenada Elementary School.
The proposed recommendations are being submitted for Grenada School Board approval.


Simmons


The selected candidate for K-1 GES Principal is Vivian B. Simmons.

She is in the process of completing a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Mississippi. She received an Education Specialist Degree in administration from Delta State University, a Masters Degree from the University of Mississippi, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Delta State University.

She began her professional career in 1983 as a second grade teacher in the Coffeeville School District. In 1988, she was hired by the Grenada School District and worked for fifteen years at Grenada Upper Elementary School as a special education teacher.

She has been the assistant principal at Grenada Elementary School for the past three years,"I anticipate positive results in collaborating with the administration, faculty and staff, parents, and students to help each pupil achieve his/her highest potential," Simmons said. "We have an awesome responsibility of preparing children to be lifelong learners and I am honored to be a vital part of this task."


Brewer


The selected candidate for GMS Principal is Sean Brewer. He received a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Mississippi College and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Millsaps

College. He began his career as a teacher and coach in Vicksburg and furthered his career in the Yazoo County System serving in a part-time

administration capacity in addition to his teaching and coaching duties. He has been the assistant principal of Grenada High School for the last two years.

"I am looking forward to continuing the work of Dr. White and her staff. I am excited about the opportunity to work with all the teachers, students, parents, and other stakeholders to further enhance the educational experience at Grenada Middle School," Brewer said. "Working together we can continue to improve teaching and learning to help make GMS the best school it can be."

Superintendent-Elect Dr. David Daigneault voiced his confidence in the candidates.

"I look forward to the continued excellence of the Grenada Schools with the guidance of Vivian Simmons and Sean Brewer serving in these important roles as

principals of K-1 Grenada Elementary and Grenada Middle School," Daigneault said. "Both of these administrators have proven management skills and will provide our district with leadership in each of these positions."
