Kindergarten through high school
Grenada art enthusiasts are asking local citizens to come out and support a group of young artists who will have their work displayed in public for the first time Saturday night.

First Street Gallery director Rose Ann Narvid said the art submitted for the show clearly demonstrates the caliber of talent among young people in the community. "These are kids from kindergarten through high school-what they have done is amazing," she said. "We have some very interesting abstract pieces as well as some more traditional works. You just have to see it to believe it."

Volunteer Robin Whitfield said about 160 pieces were entered for the show this year, and each one of them is delightful.

"I just love children's art," she said. "Some of the teachers who brought their students' work in had trouble picking out which ones to enter because they were all so good."

Narvid said the public is encouraged to attend the reception for the artists Saturday, May 18, from 6-8 p.m.. The exhibit will run through June 21.
