Animal Control officers have set aside one day a week to be on hand at the shelter for members of the public wishing to adopt a pet.
On Wednesdays at least one animal control worker will be at the shelter from 3 to 7 p.m. City Councilwoman Mary Duncan Hall also commented that there will be no charge for adopting an animal at this time. Hall said that they are trying to lay down some rules and when they are in place they will decide on the cost for adopting an animal.

The new adoption hours will begin next Wednesday. To contact an animal control worker call 227-3458 during their Wednesday hours or drop by the Shelter on L.D. Boone Drive next to the Airport.
