Because MRI had celebrated its 60th year in business last year, the theme of the picnic was "Celebrating 60 Years". T-shirts and huggies expressing this theme were given to all who attended.

There were games and activities for all ages including: guessing games, washer toss, horseshoes, softball, basketball free throw, clown, moon walk jumpers, a live band, and other children and youth activities. Prizes were awarded to winners of the games and names were drawn for door prizes.

Games, lunch

The day started out with registration and games. Lunch was served at noon catered by Hambone's out of Grenada. Contestants of the dessert contest provided some delicious desserts. During lunch the guest speaker, missionary Frank Scott, gave his testimony. Bob Smith, who recently retired was honored for his twenty-five years of service hauling metal for MSM in Sherman, MS. A dinner in Bob's honor was previously held on April 30th at a local restaurant.

Years of Service awards

Ben Morris, president of Morris Recycling, Inc., presented "Years of Service" awards to employees for their loyal service to the company: Among the workers receiving awards was Eddie Eskridge of Grenada, who was awarded a Torino jacket for 20 years of service.

The Mosely and Johnson Band provided the entertainment during the afternoon. Softball games were played, and the grand finale of the day was the "Dunk-A-Morris" dunking booth with donations going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
