The deadline for qualifying for the District Five Grenada County School Board election is fast approaching.
According to Circuit Clerk Linda Barnette, the last day to qualify is Sept. 5, at 5 p.m.
“There is no party affiliation and no runoff. The high vote wins,” said Barnette.
Candidates must collect 50 signatures of qualified electors to qualify.
Only those voters in District Five may vote in the school board election, which will be held along with the general election on Nov. 4.
