Danny Wade Arbuckle
Danny Wade Arbuckle, 54, of Duck Hill, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 18, 1959, in St. Louis, Mo., to Jamie Hamp Arbuckle and Ruby Owens Arbuckle. He was later adopted by Janie Marie Kendall Arbuckle. He was retired from Halliburton and was the owner of Partner’s Night Club in Grenada. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but mostly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m., at Garner Harper Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Oxberry.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Randee Levens Arbuckle; a son, Jesse Wade (Deanna) Arbuckle, of Grenada; and two daughters, Denise (Jason) Williamson, of Grenada; and Janie Arbuckle, of Greenwood. He is also survived by a brother, Ken Arbuckle, of Grenada; four sisters, Mary Arbuckle Rose of Greenwood, Ann Ogden, of Tennessee, Sherry Sartor, of Stewart, and Jan Mann, of Houston; and six grandchildren, Brysen, Faith, Caitlyn, Evan, Aiden, and Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bo Arbuckle; and a sister, Betty A. Hannan.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Bethel Cemetery Fund, c/o 307 Delta Wing Road, Holcomb, MS 38940.

Hilda Beatrice Thomas Caldwell
Funeral services for Hilda Beatrice Thomas Caldwell, 88, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Lee Black and Dr. Thad Moore officiated. Pallbearers will be Nathan Caldwell, Patrick Taylor, Ben Blair, Levi Caldwell, Caleb Blair, Clovis Caldwell, and David Kyle. Honorary pallbearers will be John Thomas Caldwell and Cole Caldwell. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel.
Beatrice died Feb. 17, 2014, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Gina Caldwell.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1925, to the late Willie Glen Thomas Sr. and Morene Carpenter Thomas of Grenada.
Beatrice was a cattle farmer and was retired from Pennaco Hosiery Mill, where she worked in quality control. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Beatrice was a member of the WMU, clerk at Camp McCain during WWII and a former clerk at Hardy Baptist Church, where she served for 50 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Annelle Taylor and her husband W. C.; two sons, Ronald Thomas Caldwell and John Glen Caldwell and his wife Gina, all of Grenada; six grandchildren, Nathan Caldwell, Lenore Caldwell Blair, Patrick Taylor, John Thomas Caldwell, Sicily Caldwell, and Olivia Caldwell; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb Blair, Caitlin Blair, Katie Caldwell Cook, Levi Caldwell, Cole Caldwell, Justin Floyd, and Riley Grace Taylor; one great-great grandchild, Paige Cook; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded by her husband, John Henry Caldwell Jr.; one grandson, Charles Thomas Taylor; two brothers, Lester A. Thomas and W. G. Thomas Jr. and one sister, Frances Thomas Gray.

Essie Hicks Thomas
Funeral services for Essie Hicks Thomas, 83, of Grenada, are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Visitation is Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at National Funeral Home.
Essie died Feb. 19, 2014, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenwood.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Odie Sherman Hicks and Clara Smith Hicks of Cascilla.
Essie was retired from Pennaco Hosiery as a seamstress. She was a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by four daughters, Rachel Annette Hall of Raymond, Miss., Kay Martinez of Hernando, Lisha Robinson and Sheryl “Beth“ Thomas, both of Grenada; one son, Tim Thomas of Pope; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Essie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Thomas, and 10 brothers and sisters.
